Margaret Muza

Muza is a Milwaukee-based tintype photographer, a skill commonly used by photographers beginning in the 1860s.

It was her love for history that piqued Muza’s interest in tintypes, and she fell in love with the medium through tintype portraits of prominent people, such as Walt Whitman, Abraham Lincoln and Fredrick Douglass. Tintype photography is made by creating a direct positive on a thin sheet of metal coated with a dark lacquer or enamel and used as the support for the photograph emulsion.
